Threw this together as a quick study of the differences between Arial and Helvetica. It’s easy to tell here, even with just three characters to compare. In fact, the “c,” “a,” and “t” are often the tell-tale characters.
No special kerning or tracking except to select “optical.” That was sort of part of the point. Helvetica’s “a” and “t” look like they get along much better than Arial’s.
