Newspaper Blackout: Summer Plans 2 Summer is only once a year, here’s your chance to try something new. Produce music. Read novels. Hear the sea rolling. It’s a repost, but it seemed more relevant now. Happy summer! more of my blackouts here
Newspaper Blackout: SUMMER PLANS This summer is for Art and Adventures. Happy summer, everyone! more of my blackouts here
I don’t get these types of pictures. Why not just write it down instead of taking the effort to black out an entire page of text. And I really hate it when people do it to actual books :/ This is just ridiculous. Why would you ruin a book page like this. Well, first of all, I don’t use books. I use newspapers (that people hand me multiple copies of for free). But if I did use a book, so what? I could have used a really old stinky book that no one wanted anymore. Then at least, that stinky book would become something that I thought was cool after all, and wanted to keep. Voila! Second, these are fun. It doesn’t (it shouldn’t!) take a lot of effort to do a blackout. When I do a blackout, I don’t usually have in mind what I’m going to write before sitting down with a pen and newspaper. I have to scan the page first, pick out interesting words, then cross the rest out. So it’s not the same as writing out the phrase/sentence with a pen. It’s about seeing what you end up with. Austin Kleon has a whole tumblr page and book dedicated to them. Some people even write entire poems. Check it out! :)
Newspaper Blackout: I think about you all the time. I didn’t lie when I said I’ve been doing a LOT of these. I’m addicted. Just hand me a newspaper, and I’m off to work on these. I already got a Sharpie handy in my pocket. Or better yet, give me some Sharpies since mine run out of ink easily now that I’ve found this quick creative outlet. :) More of my newspaper blackouts HERE *sorry for the mediocre quality

Newspaper Blackout: In the city, all we hear is money. I swear, it is so easy to do this sentence (or a variation of it) in almost any article of the money section of any newspaper. More of my newspaper blackouts HERE
